Digital Design skills:
I am a highly experienced and creative digital designer. An unflappable demeanour and creative approach has led to a portfolio of impressive solutions for clients including Caledonian Sleeper, Chivas Brothers, BBC, Scottish Enterprise and several Scottish Local Authorities. I am a strong communicator, technically competent and commercially aware with the ability to convey ideas clearly to clients and to lead internal teams.
With extensive experience in a creative role, I have a wide range of skills in my portfolio case including design for digital media, design for print, exhibition and strong knowledge of artwork and print production. My Skills include design using Adobe CC; Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Web template building primarily using HTML, CSS and JQuery implementation. Working with open source CMS frameworks including WordPress and Umbraco. Other skills include UX testing, wireframing, prototyping with tools such as Sketch and InVision, cross browser testing and accessibility validation for the web.
I have good knowledge of creating HTML email campaigns for clients from concept to production, including the implementation of sign up mechanisms on web and social media.
I am comfortable meeting, liaising with, presenting to clients, day to day project management, and handling larger longer term projects.
Studio Management skills
I have wide experience in a studio management/directors role, resourcing all projects, managing designers and freelancers and being responsible for the maintenance of systems.
With a background that includes freelancing and running my own business I take a keen interest in networking and making sure I keep pace with current trends in digital design and development.
Training skills
Over 6 years experience training clients in the use of WordPress and Prezi, writing bespoke manuals and producing focused sessions on using content management systems.
